Government of Romania: Announcement of the Deputy Prime Minister, We will not have a Lockdown

Government of Romania Announcement of the Deputy Prime Minister Lockdown

The Romanian government has recently had discussions regarding the restrictive measures that must be imposed in Romania due to the Coronavirus pandemic, but despite the rumors, something has remained unchanged, more precisely the intention not to impose a lockdown, general quarantine, in the country.

The Romanian government will not impose any general quarantine any time soon, according to Deputy Prime Minister Kelemen Hunor, because a lockdown of this kind would completely block the economy, so it will continue to use zonal measures to limit the spread, which it still managed to cap the growth of the last months.

"A difficult period awaits us. I am convinced that together we will manage to get through this period. The third wave has also reached Romania and if we look at what is happening in Hungary and even in Slovakia, Austria, Germany, France even, what restrictions are there, then we can say that we too will not be safe from the third wave.

We said that we will not go in the direction of a total lockdown, there are some measures that ensure that distancing and that possibility of not congregating in public spaces, through which we can keep the pandemic under control."
