The treatment protocol for people who have been infected with COVID-19 and have recovered has been changed by the Ministry of Health, and you can see below what has been changed to help people recover faster.

"The Minister of Health, Ioana Mihăilă, signed the Order for the approval of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Protocol post-COVID-19. It aims to improve the physical condition of patients who have been infected with SARS-CoV-2, as well as increasing their ability to return to a quality life.

"Such a protocol was needed for the evaluation and therapeutic management of complex disabilities resulting from SARS-CoV-2 infection. Patients who have gone through the disease, especially those with severe forms, must benefit from medical recovery services. COVID-19 is a disease that affects multiple organs and can leave respiratory, cardiac, neurological, musculoskeletal, psychological sequelae. The effects of the disease can extend over variable periods of time, affecting the patients' quality of life. The continuation of their medical rehabilitation will allow careful monitoring, restoration of functionality and work capacity and will shorten the time of return to a normal life", declared the Minister of Health, Ioana Mihăilă.

Also, the Minister of Health, Ioana Mihăilă, also approved the order that updates the medical treatment protocol for patients infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus in accordance with the latest medical studies and the recommendations of the World Health Organization and the European Center for Prevention and Control of Diseases.

Thus, the treatment of patients infected with SARS-CoV-2 was adapted in accordance with the latest considerations related to antiviral medication. At the same time, a new chapter was introduced with recommendations for family doctors who treat infected patients at home.

The two treatment protocols were developed by the specialized commissions of the Ministry of Health.

The orders of the Minister of Health containing the new medical provisions will be published today in the Official Gazette."
