Facebook wants to connect you with the "Neighbors" in the neighborhood

Facebook is starting to test a very important new functionality for its users all over the world, one that is meant to help them all get in touch more easily with the people who live near them, everything being called Facebook Neighborhoods.

Facebook is only testing this new change for the social network in the US, and it helps people get in touch with people who live in their vicinity, of course in a territorial radius large enough for the system to be relevant.

Facebook wants to help people find other people, or groups of people, with whom they have something in common, with whom they can make friends, and the idea itself is not bad, even if we are in a pandemic and normally social distancing should to be a rule.

Facebook neighborhood friends

“Facebook Neighborhoods is a section of the Facebook app dedicated to your neighborhood, with a Neighborhoods profile separate from your main Facebook profile. To join, you'll need to be 18 or older and confirm your neighborhood. You can choose to join just your own neighborhood, or you also have the option to join nearby neighborhoods to see neighbors and posts from surrounding neighborhoods.”
