Pandemia de Coronavirus continua sa se atenueze, numere tot mai mici de cazuri noi fiind raportate in fiecare zi de catre autoritati, astfel ca de cateva zile bune am scazut sub 1000 de cazuri noi raportate zilnic, ceea ce este o veste excelenta pentru tara noastra.
Numarul de decese este si el deasemenea in scadere de cateva zile, la fel ca si numarul de persoane internate la terapie intensiva, ceea ce inseamna ca spitalele nu mai au la fel de multa presiune pusa asupra lor de catre numarul mare de persoane infectate.
Campania de vaccinare continua, insa intr-un ritm mai slab fata de saptamana trecuta, numarul celor vaccinati cu prima doza impotriva Coronavirus fiind mai mic decat atunci, insa deocamdata exista in continuare interes pentru imunizare in Romania.
"Until today, May 19, on the territory of Romania, 1.073.679 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.
1.028.554 patients were declared cured.
Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 707 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. *Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.
The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 168 people were reconfirmed positive. The distribution of these cases by county can be found in the table below.

Until today, 29.716 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.
În intervalul 18.05.2021 (10:00) – 19.05.2021 (10:00) au fost raportate 54 de decese (30 bărbați și 24 femei), ale unor pacienți infectați cu noul coronavirus, internați în spitalele din Alba, Argeș, Arad, Bihor, Botoșani, Brăila, Caraș-Severin, Călărași, Cluj, Constanța, Covasna, Dolj, Galați, Ialomița, Iași, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Mureș, Neamț, Prahova, Sălaj, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Suceava, Teleorman, Timiș, Tulcea și Municipiul București.
Of these, 1 death was registered in the age category 40-49 years, 4 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 13 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 19 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 17 deaths in the over 80 age category.
53 of the registered deaths are of patients who had co-morbidities, and 1 deceased patient had no co-morbidities.
In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 4.416. Of these, 718 are hospitalized at ATI.
Until this date, at the national level, 7.692.982 RT-PCR tests and 1.060.331 rapid antigen tests have been processed. In the last 24 hours, 21.321 RT-PCR tests (12.294 based on case definition and medical protocol and 9.027 on request) and 10.253 rapid antigen tests were performed.
On the territory of Romania, 11.621 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 4.948 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 41.409 people are in home quarantine, and 82 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 811 calls were made to the single emergency number 112 and 963 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on May 18, 1.091 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 206.630 lei.
Also, through the competent structures of the Police, 2 criminal files were drawn up yesterday for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 Criminal Code.
We remind citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection rules can be reported.
