COVID-19: The Danger of Exposure of Unvaccinated Persons to Infection

COVID-19 Danger Exposure of Unvaccinated Persons Infection

The danger for people not vaccinated against COVID-19 is presented below by the Secretary of State Andrei Baciu, he shows us how many people are exposed to infection at the current vaccination rate among the Romanian population, vs collective immunity.

The problem is that in the case of the Indian strain, that percentage of 70% would no longer apply, due to its high contagiousness, and a percentage of 83% would be needed for the collective protection of people by vaccination against the Coronavirus.

"Because many of you have asked me how vaccination helps us and why it is important that as many people as possible pass through the vaccination centers, I have prepared two situations for you.
In a group with 10 people we have a vaccination rate of 70%
– 7 vaccinated persons;
– 1 person went through the disease and still has the post-COVID19 antibodies;
- 2 other people are unvaccinated, one of whom is infected with SARS-COV2 - asymptomatic.
In this group, the risk of becoming infected and developing a severe form of the disease is for 1 person in the group, that is, the one who does not have the antibodies that fight this virus.
In another group, also with 10 people, the vaccination rate is only 30%
– 3 vaccinated persons;
– 1 person went through the disease and still has the post-COVID19 antibodies;
- 6 other unvaccinated people, one of whom is infected with SARS-COV2 - asymptomatic.
In this group, the risk of becoming infected and developing a severe form of the disease is for 5 people in the group, that is, those who do not have the antibodies that fight this virus.
Studies done over time have shown that in the case of those inoculated, even if they come into contact with the virus, the probability of passing it on is very low, and the chances of developing severe forms of the disease are equally low. This is the reason why we want to reach a vaccination rate as high as possible. Only in this way can we get rid of this virus!
I urge you all to talk to your friends, colleagues, relatives or neighbors! It's important for everyone to get information from reliable sources."
