Valeriu Gheorghita: The Delta strain of the Coronavirus is 3 times more contagious

Valeriu Gheorghita stated that the delta strain, Indian, of the Coronavirus is 3 times more contagious than the initial one that generated the global pandemic, and 2 times more contagious than the one in Great Britain, but separately from it now circulates including the Gamma and Beta , all apparently even more dangerous.

Valeriu Gheorghita says that a person infected with the initial strain of the Coronavirus infects two more people, but in the case of the delta, a sick person can make another 6-7 people sick, so we are talking about a spread more than 3 times greater.

INSP announced last night that there is already community spread of the Delta variant in Pitesti, and from here it will most likely start to spread throughout the country, slowly, the number of cases may increase progressively in the next month throughout the country.

"What makes this strain so worrisome? There are several elements related, on the one hand, to contagiousness and infectivity, the data are as clear as possible that show us an increased ability to transmit the infection with the Delta variant, as a result of the fact that it binds very easily to the receptors, it multiplies to a much greater extent and, as such, the amount of virus in the respiratory secretions is increased.

Basically, that basal case reproduction factor, in the case of the Delta variant compared to the Alfa variant and the initial Wuhan variant, is much higher. A positive case of infection with the Delta variant can generate up to 6-7 secondary cases of the disease, as a case of infection with the Alpha variant, with the variant, with the British strain, which is currently dominant, can generate about 3 -4 secondary cases, and the infection with the original strain from Wuhan generates about two secondary cases of the disease."
