Klaus Iohannis gave a press statement today and among other topics mentioned, the President of Romania also spoke about the delta strain of the Coronavirus and the possibility of new restrictions being announced for Romanians, which for now is not taken into account.
Klaus Iohannis says that vaccination must be the main weapon in the fight against the Coronavirus at the moment and not the imposition of new restrictions, which is what the Romanian Government has been saying for months, but despite all this, Romanians still avoid getting vaccinated in large numbers.
"Honestly, I don't think that restrictive measures should be imposed now, but vaccination is. So, we've been through a year and a half of the pandemic, and I've repeated this many times, and I'll repeat it now. Getting out of the pandemic and preventing the return of the pandemic, that's what we're talking about now, lies in vaccination. Vaccination is possible with us, the vaccine is available without an appointment, without any kind of bureaucracy. So, I still recommend every Romanian to get vaccinated if they don't want to go to the hospital. It's that simple."
