Valeriu Gheorghita: Announcement about Fertility after Vaccination

Valeriu Gheorghita explained a very important situation that requires a very serious and official clarification, talking about the fertility of those who have been vaccinated and saying that there are no studies to confirm that it is negatively influenced in any way, on the contrary.

Valeriu Gheorghita says that the fertility of men or women should not be affected in any way after vaccination, which should reassure some of those who have read the information on this subject on social networks, which apparently are not true.

"Also, another completely false information, which is circulating in the public space, and that is why I allowed myself to present it here, is related to fertility and the idea is propagated that the COVID-19 vaccination affects fertility, both in women and in men. The data are as clear as possible, first of all, the idea started from the fact that there is a similarity between the structure of the spike protein and a protein, syncytin-1, which has a role in the maturation and development of the placenta, but studies have shown that there is very small similarities between these two proteins, so that the probability of finding a similarity between the spike protein and any other protein is very high, if we were to look at them.

Moreover, starting from this hypothesis, the idea was circulated that anti-spike protein antibodies would also cross-react with this protein, which has a role in the maturation of the placenta, and that it would obviously cause these fertility problems. Things are not like that at all.

First of all, there are studies done in vaccinated people and anti-syncytin-1 antibodies were determined, in 15 cases – they are studies on a small number of people and these antibodies were not identified and, moreover, all the data available by at this moment it shows that after the natural infection with SARS-CoV-2, i.e. after COVID-19, there are no signs that fertility decreases, because the same anti-spike protein antibodies also appear after the natural disease.

Moreover, there are recently published studies that have shown that after vaccination male fertility is not influenced, they basically looked at certain parameters in the seminal fluid and they are unchanged compared to the previous state at an interval of about two to three weeks from the second dose of vaccine."
