Valeriu Gheorghita has a very worrying announcement before the 4th wave of infections with the new Coronavirus reaches Romania, and the problems are extremely serious because behind an active case there are still another 5-10 positive cases, or at least there were until now.
Valeriu Gheorghita said about a week ago that in the case of the delta strain there is a transmission 2/3 times stronger than in the case of the Alfa version, so it is possible that behind one case there are 5-15 other cases, and those with asymptomatic forms are they may not make antibodies, or they may be few and no longer protect them.
"This results from this study. Moreover, we also estimate that, at least during the period when there was an accelerated community transmission in Romania, behind one positive case there were between 5 and 10 other positive cases as a result of the exposure of other people to that patient who was positive.
But what is very important to mention is that the data from the scientific studies still show us some very important things, namely, in the case of those who had asymptomatic or mild forms of the disease, the level of neutralizing antibodies, i.e. those protective antibodies that block the entry of the virus into cells is very reduced or even undetectable."
