Orange: IMPORTANT Data that Customers Need to Know

Orange is the largest telecommunications operator in Romania at the moment, with over 10 million active customers, and will soon complete the acquisition of Telekom and add another 4 million customers. Those from Orange have been offering fixed internet for customers for several years, using Telekom's fiber optic infrastructure to sell television subscriptions, fixed internet and fixed telephony for Romanians at decent prices.

Orange promises Romanians speeds of up to 1 Gbps for fixed internet connections, the numbers being high in theory, but in reality the situation is quite different, at least according to Orange. In the this page those from Orange have detailed the quality parameters for mobile and fixed internet services in Romania, and here comes a very bad news for many of its customers, but it's something that many probably haven't found out about yet, unfortunately.

Orange: IMPORTANT Data that Customers Need to Know

Orange sells fixed internet subscriptions with speeds of 1 Gbps, or 940 Mbps maximum, but according to the operator, the speed experienced by customers in the vast majority of the time is only 570 Mbps, that is, almost half. According to DIGI's data, and the experience we have constantly had, the average speed experienced by its customers is 850 mbps out of the maximum 940 Mbps, a colossal difference compared to Orange, and it is also repeated in the case of the other subscriptions that the group French has them.

Orange mentions with each fixed internet subscription via fiber optic that the speeds normally experienced by customers are halved compared to the maximum advertised for the subscription. Whether it's just a matter of precaution, or whether it's about the fact that Orange can't deliver the same high-speed internet as DIGI through the Telekom infrastructure, the differences are big and maybe it would matter for those who know where to look for information about them.

Orange is buying from Telekom an infrastructure that a member of Deutsche Telekom's board of directors said is inferior to that of DIGI and that the investments in modernization are not worth making. Considering these, maybe it's not surprising that Orange can only deliver half the quality of DIGI, but maybe it will decide to make investments to offer better services than RCS & RDS, considering that its network the furniture is the best in the country.
