Valeriu Gheorghita issued a very important warning for all Romanians throughout the country due to the 4th wave of the Coronavirus, which is already generating increases in the daily number of new cases, the CNCAV coordinator stating that in September it could reach 1500 new cases daily.
Valeriu Gheorghita said that this estimate depends on the number of people who will be vaccinated by then, but as the situation shows, when we are already at almost 300 new cases daily at the beginning of August and very few vaccinations, it is possible that that number be exceeded.
"In the last two weeks, there has been a slight increase in the average number of cases per week. Practically, if we look at the last two weeks, by age group, we find that under 40 there is an important increase, even of about 120%, in the number of cases.
In the following period we observe a progressive, slow increase in the number of cases, but this prediction shows us that it is possible, in mid-September, to reach a much higher number of cases. Even more than 1.500 cases are estimated to be reported each day, but this is highly dependent on the number of people who will be immunized by then."
