At the beginning of the year, there were many discussions in Romania regarding obtaining group immunity for protection against the Coronavirus, and it was said that more than two thirds of the population must be vaccinated so that the pandemic can be slowed down.
A few months later, Romania still only has a little over a third of the population vaccinated and is far from herd immunity, even if at the national level it is estimated that almost 50% of people have some form of protection, but because of the Delta variant it is necessary moreover, that means protection for probably 80% of the population.
