Valeriu Gheorghita: Risk of Restrictions in Wave 4 in Romania

Valeriu Gheorghita spoke about something that no one wants to hear, new restrictions, but considering that the 4th wave has already started to "hit" Romania, unfortunately such measures are being discussed again, only now they are related to vaccination.

Valeriu Gheorghita says that in other European countries restrictions are imposed for those not vaccinated in the 4th wave, and in Romania for the time being they are not being discussed because they would be received with difficulty by Romanians, but if they are imposed in the rest of Europe, whatever possible with us too.

"What is happening in certain European countries are certain issues related to restrictions and the implementation of the digital green certificate within the country in terms of access to certain events. And we also know that there are countries that have made the decision to make vaccination mandatory.

This is how things are done everywhere. Of course, the type of population you are addressing is also important and that certainly makes a difference, but for us it is important to try to better individualize communication and information actions precisely to be as close as possible to the people.

We understand and have understood from the beginning the concerns and hesitations, they are natural, but we need to understand, at the moment there is already an important duration, of eight months since vaccination, there are over 4,5 billion doses administered, we have sufficient safety data, we have efficiency data, I think at the moment we no longer have a reason to postpone the decision to vaccinate citing reasons of safety or efficiency."
