A new number of cases of infection with the Coronavirus was published today by the authorities in Romania, and as you can see, we are again talking about an increase compared to the same day last week, and this is because the trend itself is one breeder

The situation in hospitals is starting to become more and more complicated, and this is because more and more new cases have been reported recently, so that more and more Romanians are admitted to the normal wards of medical units, including intensive care, and the situation is you will get worse.

The vaccination campaign is going at the same pace as until a few weeks ago, so the authorities are trying to boost an increase during this period, but it is difficult to obtain, so it remains to be seen what exactly will happen.

"Until today, August 23, on the territory of Romania, 1.091.340 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.

1.052.055 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 415 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Until today, 34.425 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

In the interval 22.08.2021 (10:00) – 23.08.2021 (10:00) 13 deaths (5 men and 8 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Argeș counties, were reported by the INSP. Bistrita-Năsăud, Călărași, Cluj, Constanța, Mureș, Neamț, Sibiu and Timiș.

Of these, 1 death was registered in the age category 30-39 years, 1 in the age category 40-49 years, 6 in the age category 60-69 years, 4 in the age category 70-79 years and 1 in the category over 80 years.

12 of the registered deaths are of patients who presented comorbidities, and 1 deceased patient did not present comorbidities.

No deaths are reported prior to the reference interval.

In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 1.378. Of these, 193 are hospitalized at ATI.

Until this date, at the national level, 8.980.921 RT-PCR tests and 2.224.659 rapid antigenic tests have been processed. In the last 24 hours, 4.339 RT-PCR tests (1.887 based on case definition and medical protocol and 2.452 on request) and 10.779 rapid antigen tests were performed.

On the territory of Romania, 3.919 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 1.420 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 60.730 people are in home quarantine, and 74 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 538 calls were made to the single emergency number 112.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on August 22, 433 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 147.600 lei.

We remind citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) to which violations of sanitary protection rules can be reported.

The calls are taken by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for verification of the reported aspects.
