Raed Arafat talks today about how the restrictions will return in Romania in full wave 4 of infections, the authorities still intending to respect the incidence rates in order to re-impose the restriction measures that were removed in the summer.
Raed Arafat says that there is no desire to give up these incidence rates for now, which is perfectly normal because only if there are large numbers of infections should restrictions be imposed, a situation we saw in 2020 as well.
"Let's remove the incidences, no. If the incidences are removed, at this moment, the problem does not even arise. We have an increase, let's come and remove the incidences... Romania has not implemented very tough and very strict rules. Romania went by incidents.
When there was an incident, certain rules were applied and we did quite well compared to other countries. We are not coming now to destroy the mechanism through which we have passed, however, quite controlled through the pandemic and in the past waves and to give up the measures that helped us to solve the problem. Still, at this time, the government decision provides that these incidences remain valid and everything related to them applies. Thank you."
