Dedeman, one of the largest chains in Romania that sells do-it-yourself products, is at the center of an official warning that millions of Romanians across the country must know about. Below you can see a warning from CERT-RO, the government agency for cyber security, and thanks to it we learn that we must be vigilant regarding a new phishing campaign that uses the Dedeman brand.
Dedeman issued a similar warning more than a week ago, and the situation is so serious that it had to make a special page on its website to warn Romanians. The problem is that this phishing campaign affects Romanians from all over the country, not just Dedeman's clients, so everyone must be extremely vigilant not to fall into the net of hackers who want to steal their data and money.
DEDEMAN: New WARNING Officially Issued for All Romanians
Dedeman's image is used in a campaign that is based on supposed contests offering iPhones and various other products that are very popular among Romanians, or not only. As you can see, people are tricked into thinking they've won one of these products, and then they're asked to hand over their personal data, believing that it's going to Dedeman to be used to send the prize to their home address.
Dedeman told the Romanians that he does not organize contests of this kind, and if he did, then he would have information about them on his page on the social network Facebook, or on his website. Everything you see now distributed on social networks regarding the contests apparently made by Dedeman is actually a big lie to steal Romanians' data, so you must be extremely vigilant about what data you offer to others.
Dedeman constantly tries to warn Romanians about what happens in the case of phishing attacks of this kind, but it is also necessary for people to be very careful about these problems.
