Android taxes

Android is the most used operating system for mobile phones, with over 1 billion phones that have installed a version of it all over the world, it is very easy to understand why hackers are very interested in it. More precisely, this new type of malware is disguised as applications that tell people that they can get back part of the money paid as taxes, but in reality their phones are infected with malware that is only intended to steal their money.

Android is so popular that malware of this kind can spread rapidly throughout the world, and the one we're talking about now is very widespread in India, for now. There, the clients of 27 commercial and private banks were affected by this new type of malware for Android, and the numbers are increasing because the spread is uncontrolled, especially as people install applications on their phones from unauthorized sources, not only from the Google Play Store.

Android: ALERT Regarding a Serious New Unexpected Problem

Android has this malware distributed mainly on social networks, or through SMS messages, with the name Drinik, and IT security experts have issued various warnings about it. The malware is designed to replace the login interface of people in banking applications for Android with those designed by hackers, so that people enter their access data into the attackers' servers, and they can access their accounts.

“This malicious Android app transforms into the Income Tax Department app and after installation, the app asks the user to grant necessary permissions like SMS, call logs, contacts, etc. "said the CERT-In notice." If the user does not enter any information on the site, the same form screen is displayed in the Android app and the user is asked to fill in to continue."

Android has this attack carried out exclusively through applications infected with malware, links for their download being sent to people by various people, and in the end they end up being the source of infection. Unfortunately, the situation is so serious that people have no way to protect themselves if they do not realize from the very beginning what is happening, the attacks being designed to take over other data separately from the bank data.

Android is a system designed to be safe, but users are the ones who have to protect themselves against problems of this kind in order to keep their data, and money, safe.
