Valeriu Gheorghita: The Radical Decision in the 4th Wave in Romania

Valeriu Gheorghita talks about a radical decision that was taken in Romania in full wave 4 of infections by the authorities and it is something that was not exactly expected by people, but something that for some will be a source of irritation because RO-ALERT will be used for warnings regarding the Coronavirus.

Valeriu Gheorghita said that this week we will receive messages through RO-ALERT regarding the very serious situation in the country and with recommendations for vaccination or compliance with preventive measures, many people are wondering if the emergency system should be used in such a situation way, but in desperate situations anything can help.

"I can tell you that within the CNCAV we have agreed to send a weekly message through the RO-Alert system, in which we convey the importance of complying with the measures to prevent the spread of SARS-CoV-2 infection and information from official sources, as well as the recommendation very firm vaccination.

Moreover, messages will also be sent through the National Health Insurance House to patients with chronic conditions, patients who are in the records of the National Health Insurance House with chronic conditions. Also, through community assistants and colleagues from the primary family medicine network, we had a meeting with the representatives of family doctors in the CNCAV and we agreed that one of the ways we can increase awareness of the importance and benefits of vaccination would be the individual contacting of people, of patients from their own lists, especially the vulnerable ones, to be done in the next period through family doctors, through all the communication channels that you have and with whom you usually keep in touch with patients.

It is an extremely difficult, extremely complicated period. I think we understand the benefits, the importance of vaccination and it is time to vaccinate, I repeat, especially the vulnerable, those with chronic conditions, because in this way we can reduce mortality."
