Romanian Government New Restrictions October 23, 2021

The Romanian government will impose a new series of restrictions in Romania starting on October 23, 2021, following the announcement made by President Klaus Iohannis, with the aim of reducing the number of new cases of Coronavirus throughout the country until the end of the year.

The Government of Romania proposes to adopt through the CNSU one of the following proposals for new restrictions in Romania starting on October 23, 2021, so it is good to know in advance what is going to be imposed on all of us:

  1. night quarantine starting at 21:00, but not for people cured in the last 6 months or vaccinated;
  2. access to public institutions only with a COVID certificate;
  3. alternative program for employees from the private and public sectors;
  4. banning all private events throughout;
  5. the obligation to wear a mask in all open or closed, public or private spaces.

The Romanian government could also impose the obligation to use the COVID certificate for all non-essential activities, including access to shops, even if only on weekends.
