The Minister of MAI Announces the Last Time When Wave 5 Romania Begins

The Minister of the Ministry of Interior, Lucia Bode, revealed today in a press conference with prefects from the country, and other people from the territorial structures of the Ministry of Interior, when the 5th wave of the Coronavirus will begin in Romania, and according to the official, in just 3 weeks it should we see the first increases in cases in Romania.

The Minister of the Ministry of the Interior does not tell us anything different from what we have seen so far from the authorities regarding the way the pandemic will evolve in Romania, so it is good to be prepared in January to see new restrictions imposed in Romania because of the pandemic.

"We are in a period of calm, but these measures are necessary to effectively respond to the next pandemic wave, which according to specialists' estimates will have a greater impact compared to wave 4. According to all specialists' estimates, wave 5 will come in maximum 3 weeks in Romania.

It is necessary to take into account the prevention of crowding in public spaces, taking into account the specific nature of citizens' manifestations of spending in large groups during the winter holidays, and especially in the ninth of the year.

Special attention must be paid to mountain resorts, as you must take into account the public manifestations circumscribed by the right to free expression. You must make sure that they take place peacefully and civilly, in accordance with the future legal provisions in Romania.

It is vital to adapt the devices to ensure an immediate reaction. Paying increased attention to the entire set of measures to prevent, to limit the spread of the Coronavirus, with an emphasis on the continuation of measures regarding citizens' compliance with health protection rules, emphasis on private events.

Prefects have a very well-defined role in coordinating the activities and interventions related to combating the COVID-19 pandemic at the level of the County Committees for Emergency Situations, under the coordination of the Department for Emergency Situations according to the legal provisions.

The 2 years of the pandemic have shown us that the current institutional architecture works in an integrated and coordinated manner at the national level, the results were positive, an aspect noted as such by the foreign delegations we interacted with.

The participation and collaboration of all structures with responsibilities in the medical field, emergency situations, and public order services is very important in this period, therefore I strongly request you to strengthen the coordination structures, and to collaborate more closely with the DSPs for the very urgent implementation of the measures transmitted by the MAI."
