The Minister of Education: Last Minute Measures, What is Necessary in Schools for Students

The Minister of Education Last Time Measures Necessary Schools Pupils

The Minister of Education speaks for all the Romanians in the country about a series of necessary measures for Romanian schools and the millions of students who follow the courses of the educational units, and this is because at the base is the problem of online courses, which could become mandatory again.

The Minister of Education talks below about the 5 basic conditions so that the online school can take place in decent conditions so that the students have access to a quality educational act, and the evaluation is also done in the most correct conditions by the teachers .

"No education system in this world has been prepared for online teaching, 5 basic conditions are needed. One, you need widespread connectivity, but we cannot say that every student in this country, including those from rural areas, has access to the Internet at a sufficient speed for true online teaching.

They have access to the Internet enough to receive messages via WhatsApp, but sending messages via WhatsApp once every two/three days is not online teaching, they have access to an email, but receiving emails with homework once every two/three days, there is no online teaching, and I do not go into details about synchronous and asynchronous teaching.

Two, equipment, 1 million equipment were purchased, mostly tablets, plus another 60.000 laptops, so we are better off from the equipment perspective than we were at the beginning of the pandemic. It was a good investment and not only of the state, because there were tablets bought from European funds, from the budgets of the town halls, by private companies.

The third element is the training of teachers from the perspective of digital pedagogy, and we do not have all teachers, neither we nor any other state, trained for online teaching. The fourth element, digital content is needed for all subjects, because you have connectivity and equipment for students for nothing.

The fifth element, which is talked about too little, because any didactic process begins and ends with an evaluation. The online evaluation has a pronounced specificity. There are solutions, but in Romania the solution is by no means generalized, which is why we have this irrelevance of grades. The one who answers you behind a black screen can be the student, the parent, a brother, or anyone, he can have sources of information, he can do absolutely anything." A declared government official.
