Government of Romania: State Aid Sent to Ukrainian Refugees in Romania

The Romanian government talks below about the aid that has been sent to the Ukrainian refugees who have arrived in Romania at the moment, and this in the conditions in which the number of those who continue to enter the country remains high.

"I start with the mobilization of the authorities in connection with sending new aid to Ukrainian citizens. According to the report presented by the National Administration of State Reserves and Special Issues, since yesterday, based on the Prime Minister's decision, a transport of fuel and food has already been carried out to Ukraine, it is about dozens of wagons that have been loaded and set in motion . These things are also coordinated with the Ukrainian authorities.

At the same time, apart from fuel, important quantities of food and water are mobilized, all of which will reach Siret. To these efforts are added the three trucks with about 600 complete items – beds, mattresses, sheets, pillows, sleeping bags, which have already arrived at the refugee camp, organized by the ISU in Suceava, and four other trucks that are to arrive in Botoşani, in another refugee camp, organized by ISU.

I was telling you, however, the government authorities support and coordinate with the efforts of civil society. On the government platform "Ukraine - together we help more" more than 3.000 offers of help are already collected, which consist of food, foodstuffs, hygiene products, medicines and even accommodation facilities. Today, in about an hour, an hour and a half, a second transport will leave Bucharest, taken over by ISU trucks. It is about medicines and other sanitary products, which will leave for the northern border of the country, going to reach Ukrainian citizens. These transports will continue, last night was the first.”
