Minister of Education Last Minute Announcement Reasons for School Changes

The Minister of Education is speaking to millions of students and parents from all over Romania about the reasons for the radical changes that have been announced for all schools in our country, and as you can see, the goal is to substantially improve the education system in the coming years.

The Minister of Education talks about the fact that the semesters do not disappear, but also about how the teachers must first see the evaluations of the students to whom they are trying to convey the subject they must learn, the ideas being extremely important for a system like ours.

"I have no other explanation than the upheaval of the education system generated by this health crisis for two years. I don't think it's the fault of the teachers, or the fault of the students, or the fault of the parents, no, it's a consequence of a state of affairs that has affected the entire planet, on all education systems.

A very important clarification, I do not want it to be understood that by presenting this concept that stands in front of any theory from the perspective of modern pedagogy, not only from what the Romanian experts in the education sciences support, of dividing it into 5 modules, it should not be understood that the semesters will be replaced with 5 rows of evaluations, or that 5 averages will be needed.

There will be 2 semesters left, or even just one, remains to be discussed. If the semesters will remain and the experts in the education sciences will have arguments for the semester averages to be kept, they will be kept. If there will be no arguments, and they will be replaced by other forms of evaluation, more relevant in the interest of the students, these forms will be adopted.

The discussion is open, and will be held in April with all those involved in the education process. In April, we will have the changes to ROFUIP in which we will also discuss the proposal in which we assumed to give up semester theses in all schools in Romania.

The vast majority of teachers in Romania know how to do very well, each for the discipline they manage, the rhythmic assessment, the assessment throughout the school year. I know how to do this, and I do it, and this is essential. We will also have to have a feedback, which we can send to the students, the parents, regarding the results of this rhythmic evaluation."
