New US F-16 Fighting Falcon Airplanes Arrive in Romania

New F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft of the US Army have arrived in Romania, they being sent as part of a rotation of detachments of American aircraft that are deployed at the 86th Air Base in Romania.

Six F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter aircraft of the US Air Force, from the Aviano Air Base, Italy, arrived the other day at the 86 Air Base "Lieutenant aviator Gheorghe Mociorniță" from Borcea, to replace the 480 Expeditionary Fighter Squadron of USA, from Spangdahlem Air Force Base.

The detachment of the 510th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron of the USA will, in the next period, carry out joint missions and trainings with soldiers and aircraft of the Romanian Air Force.

The joint training missions have as their main objective the increase of interoperability between NATO allies and represent concrete evidence of the high level of cooperation in the field of security and defense within the Strategic Partnership between Romania and the United States of America and convey a strong message of solidarity between allies.
