The coronavirus in Romania is still present, the authorities in our country confirming every day Romanians who have been infected by the virus, and of course this remains one of the most serious problems that our country is facing at the moment, it being in attention of the authorities.
The coronavirus continues to generate new cases of infection in Romania, but we are still not talking about as many people as in other European countries where tens of thousands of new cases are registered every day, the situation being even worse in Asia, where the numbers of infections are even higher, unfortunately.
The evolution of the Coronavirus pandemic at the moment in Romania is a very positive one, the daily number of new cases decreasing substantially from one period to another, which in the end is exactly what is needed for things to evolve in the right direction for the return total and permanent to normality.
"In the last 24 hours, 602 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, 103 less than the previous day. 62 of the new cases in 24 hours are from reinfected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the first infection.
*Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized.
**As for cases from abroad, these are cases of citizens who came to Romania having been infected in other countries. These cases were included in the total of new cases not allocated by county.
Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 53 people were reconfirmed positive.
In specialized health units, the number of people hospitalized in wards with COVID-19 is 888, 25 less than the previous day. Also, 151 people are hospitalized at ATI, 7 more than the previous day. Of the 151 patients admitted to ATI, 140 are unvaccinated.
Out of the total number of admitted patients, 66 are minors, all of them admitted to the wards, 6 more than the previous day and 0 in the ICU, the same as the previous day.

DEATHS
Until today, 65.595 people diagnosed with SarsCov-2 infection have died.
Between 11.05.2022 (10:00) and 12.05.2022 (10:00) 6 deaths (2 men and 4 women) were reported by the INSP, with no deaths reported before the reference interval.
Of the 6 deaths, 2 were registered in the age category 50-59 years, 1 in the age category 60-69 years, 2 in the age category 70-79 years and 1 in the age category over 80 years .
All registered deaths are of patients who had comorbidities.
Of the total of 6 deceased patients, 4 were unvaccinated and 2 vaccinated. 1 of the vaccinated patients who died was aged 50-59 and 1 was aged 70-79.
tESTING
In the last 24 hours, 5.130 RT-PCR tests (2.784 based on case definition and medical protocol and 2.346 on request) and 13.660 rapid antigen tests were performed. Until this date, at the national level, 13.042.483 RT-PCR tests and 9.868.301 rapid antigen tests have been processed."
