Gabriela Firea: Officially Confirmed Last Minute Measures for Romania

Gabriela Firea Last Time Confirmed Official Romania Measures

Gabriela Firea talks to Romanians about some extremely important measures that are supported to be implemented in Romania, and as you can see below, it is about measures that have in mind single women who have more than 3 children, or those over 40 years old.

Gabriela Firea explains below a series of steps that she took for this plan to be implemented as quickly as possible to help mothers in Romania, but it takes time for them to be officially adopted, but also applied.

"Supporting a reduced tax for mothers with more than three children, supporting women over 40 to find jobs more easily, recognizing the child-rearing period as a contribution period, as well as increasing the number of positions intended for women in the structures management of public institutions and companies are just some of the priorities of the Ministry of Family at present.

We presented these projects, as well as those already underway, at the event organized together with the National Confederation of Women's Entrepreneurship (CONAF), led by Mrs. Cristina Chiriac. The debate aimed to find the best solutions to ensure a fair and sustainable presentation of women in Romanian society.

We discussed with the representatives of the business environment about the projects we are working on, we listened to their proposals, some extremely concrete and well articulated. Equal rights at work, greater involvement of women in decision-making, protecting women from abuse, harassment, any type of violence are the main directions of action on which we focus.

That is why we are discussing with the Ministry of Finance legislative changes regarding: the establishment of gender quotas among employees, according to the model already implemented in other European states, by amending GEO 109/2011 on the corporate governance of public enterprises. The introduction of tax benefits for mothers, including by reducing the amount of taxes paid by mothers with more than three children.

Recognition of the child-rearing period as a contribution period. Another priority of the Ministry of Family is the prevention and combating of domestic violence. In the first three months of this year, 12 women, victims of domestic violence, died. In 2021, 51.222 victims of domestic violence and 69 deaths were reported.”
