The Minister of Defense: The Last Minute Measures Decided in Europe Due to the War

The Minister of Defense, Vasile Dincu, informs all Romanians about the last-minute measures that were discussed in Brussels for all of Europe in the context of the war in Ukraine, but especially for the countries that are on the eastern flank, closer to the conflict that seems far away. finally, still.

The Minister of Defense talks below about the measures that have been discussed for legislative changes at the European level so that the acquisitions of military equipment can be done much faster, without as much bureaucracy, and possibly with certain financial incentives offered to certain countries.

"There was also a lot of talk about financial incentives, I hope that during this period important decisions will be made in Brussels regarding the possibility of rapid acquisitions, the change of the European legislative framework to support rapid acquisitions for the countries located in the immediate vicinity of Russia, which are in danger.

They talked about the priority that must be given to the countries that are in the area of a possible attack by the Russian Federation. Of course, we defend ourselves in this area by supporting Ukraine. After Ramstein, for example, after that important meeting for the second phase of the war, they highlighted the need for collaboration and coordination.

A logistics coordination committee was created to support Ukraine. Very important steps were taken here. Likewise, the rethinking of the entire system in terms of Ukraine's support strategies for the future, including discussions related to the future reconstruction of Ukraine, also means measures to ensure the security of this eastern flank, including the Black Sea.

A very important thing that we discussed at the Foreign Affairs Committee, which took place on Tuesday in Brussels with the corresponding ministers, was to create new options for communication between countries, for collaboration, and for joint production. An innovation hub has been established which will be financed in the future, and which will focus on this rapid endowment, and on continuous collaboration in the armaments industry.

All these actions are actions in which Romania participates, and which aim to strengthen the eastern flank, to strengthen our endowment, and above all, matters related to the urgency of the endowment. We hope that in the future we will have simpler procedures and financial incentives from the European Union to be able to overcome the phase in which many of the urgently needed purchases are delayed for years."
