The coronavirus remains present in Romania as we prepare to enter the summer, the authorities in our country continue to regularly confirm new cases that are registered in various areas of our country at the moment, but the good part is that all the figures are in a continuous decline.
The coronavirus is very present including in many areas of Europe, there are many countries that have tens of thousands of new cases of infection registered every day, but everywhere the 5th wave is starting to lose its intensity before a very crowded summer begins for very many people from all over the world, which is normal.
Until autumn, it is improbable that the number of new cases of Coronavirus will increase, and this is because no one expects an increase in the number of new cases, which is perfectly normal after a spring with countries that have also registered hundreds of thousands of new cases of infection every day, unfortunately.
"In the last 24 hours, 203 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, 92 less than the previous day. 24 of the new cases in 24 hours are from reinfected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the first infection.
*Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized.
**As for cases from abroad, these are cases of citizens who came to Romania having been infected in other countries. These cases were included in the total of new cases not allocated by county.
Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 17 people were reconfirmed positive.
In specialized health units, the number of people hospitalized in wards with COVID-19 is 548, 14 more than the previous day. Also, 75 people are hospitalized at ATI, 8 less than the previous day. Of the 75 patients admitted to ATI, 62 are unvaccinated.
Out of the total number of admitted patients, 34 are minors, all of them admitted to the wards, 9 more than the previous day and 0 in the ICU, the same as the previous day.
DEATHS
Until today, 65.678 people diagnosed with SarsCov-2 infection have died.
Between 28.05.2022 (10:00) and 29.05.2022 (10:00) 1 death (male) was reported by the INSP, with no deaths reported before the reference interval.
The death was registered in the over 80 age category.
The patient who died had comorbidities and was not vaccinated.
tESTING
In the last 24 hours, 2.854 RT-PCR tests were performed (975 based on case definition and medical protocol and 1.879 on request) and 6.282 rapid antigen tests. Until this date, at the national level, 13.111.766 RT-PCR tests and 10.056.686 rapid antigen tests have been processed."
