RO-ALERT: Successive ALERT messages for the Storm in Bucharest

RO-ALERT Successive ALERT Messages Storm Bucharest

RO-ALERT was used today by the authorities in Bucharest to send successive and delayed messages in connection with the storm that broke out in the capital, over 2 million people being targeted by the alerts sent by ISUBIF during this afternoon, but the way the messages were thought is at least strange.

RO-ALERT was supposed to warn us about a red weather warning code, but instead of combining the alerts in one message, the authorities sent several, which more than likely generated enough upset among many.

The National Meteorological Administration has issued a code red weather warning, valid on 14.06.2022, time interval 17:00-18:30, for the Municipality of Bucharest.

There will be: torrential showers that will exceed 40...50 l/sq m - in the warned area around 50 l/sq m have accumulated, electrical discharges, small and medium-sized hail.

A warning message was sent through the Ro-Alert system a short time ago.
We recommend the following preventive measures to citizens:

  • -for people on the street, avoid taking shelter or passing near trees, poles, billboards, buildings with architectural elements that can be easily dislodged, as well as buildings under construction;
  • -stopping activities carried out in open ground or at height;
  • - closing all the windows of houses and other categories of constructions.
  • - avoiding touching poles or wires that have fallen to the ground.
