Minister of Health: Last Hour, High Level Decisions Taken in Romania

Minister of Health Last Minute High Level Decisions Taken Romania

The Minister of Health has officially confirmed a series of high-level decisions taken for Romania, some of which have an important impact on our country, and this is because, together with the UN and the WHO, access to medical care for refugees who arrived in country from Ukraine.

The Minister of Health was present at the inauguration of the primary care medical offices within the Center of Integrated Services for Refugees at Romexpo, and there he spoke about the efforts made both by Romania and by the UN or WHO.

"An operation in which the agents of the United Nations, the Refugee Agency and the World Health Organization participated, we also helped from the ministry to open these offices for primary medical care, but also for psychological counseling and counseling regarding the mother's problems and the child, there is also a consultation office for children.

We realize from the affluence that exists here that they are needed, and we are thinking if we have really discussed this with colleagues from the United Nations High Secretariat for Refugees, if we can find another location, because 1.2 have entered Romania millions of people, 85.000 of them remained, a good part are children, almost 40.000 children, or I pray, under 18 years old.

It is clear that they need medical assistance, and beyond the diseases for which we offer hospital medical assistance free of charge, we must also be able to offer them access to primary medical assistance services. I know that there are colleagues from the office of the World Health Organization for Romania who are in contact with numerous family doctors, we expect a positive response from them.

If not, we will also get involved in contacting the professional organizations of family doctors so that access to family medicine services is possible. I am with the French ambassador and the Japanese ambassador, who are directly involved in this type of activity, and I thank them for their involvement.

You can see that, unfortunately, today you know very well that it is the World Refugee Day, or the care for refugees. Unfortunately, the number of refugees at the global level is increasing, it has exceeded 100 million, and if a few years ago we faced waves of refugees from Syria, we see that a country neighboring Romania, Ukraine, has a large number of refugees .” declared Alexander Rafila.
