The European Parliament supports the accession of Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova to the European Union by adopting a resolution on the basis of which it recommends granting the status of a candidate country for accession to the European Union for both states, something that was of course to be expected in the current international context.
The European Parliament adopted this resolution after Ursula Von der Leyen, the president of the European Commission, gave a speech yesterday in which she requested the granting of the status of candidate states to both countries, so we are only talking about a confirmation of what everyone expected to see from this European institution.
The European Parliament has supported a lot of measures favorable to Ukraine recently, so it was normal to see this adopted as well, even if it also involves the Republic of Moldova, but with all that, we are talking about an expected path for both countries from the point of view of European integration for both, as soon as possible.
⚡️European Parliament adopts resolution in support of granting Ukraine, Moldova candidate status for EU membership 'without delay.'
According to the European Parliament's statement published on June 23, the EU should do the same with Georgia "once its government has delivered."
