Coronavirus Romania: The basal reproduction rate is increasing

The basal reproduction rate of new cases of Coronavirus is increasing in Romania, this being confirmed by the Minister of Health, Alexandru Rafila, in an interview he gave these days, and unfortunately this situation is worrying in the context of the possible emergence of a sixth wave of infections.

Alexandru Rafila stated that the basal reproduction rate is approaching 1, the point at which the number of new cases of Coronavirus increases from one week to the next, and this means that an infected person can also infect at least one, or more , other healthy people if he comes into contact with them.

The coronavirus is still present in Romania, the number of new cases increasing by over 30% from one week to the next in the last 2 weeks, a sign that the 6th wave that some western countries are going through is starting to make its presence felt, including in Romania, and it is not excluded so that the basal reproduction rate increases in the following weeks.

What will happen in the coming weeks and months is difficult to predict, but the Minister of Health does not exclude the possibility that a significant new wave of cases of Coronavirus will appear in the fall, especially if the number of infections will increase over the summer in Romania in the absence of preventive measures of the authorities.
