The coronavirus has generated a doubling of the number of infections in Romania in just one week, the authorities confirming the situation in our country yesterday, and they call on the population to get tested if they have the specific symptoms of a possible infection caused by the virus , and this in order to receive treatment, but also to protect those around them.

The coronavirus continues to spread in Europe, and this is because in many countries the BA.4 and BA.5 variants of the virus generate very large numbers of cases among the European population, which of course generates a lot of concern among a lot of people, wave 6 already starting in many regions.

The coronavirus has put the Romanian authorities on guard, and this is because they are preparing for a possible increase in the number of new cases in our country in the coming weeks, something that should not be treated very easily, and this is because they expect and 10.000 new daily cases at the end of summer.

COVID-19 situation in the week of June 27 - July 3, 2022:

  • 7.726 new infections with SARS CoV 2;
  • 16 people died.

At the moment:

  • 922 people are hospitalized in wards, of which 124 are children;
  • 52 people are hospitalized in ATI, of which 1 child.

Of the 52 people hospitalized in ATI, 25 (48.07%) are unvaccinated people (who do not have a certificate attesting to vaccination).
4th of July Situation:

  • Italy: 72.917 confirmed cases and 57 deaths;
  • Germany: 2.366 confirmed cases and 3 deaths;
  • Austria: 8.945 confirmed cases and 2 deaths.

Important!

People who have symptoms that may indicate the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus (fever, cough, fatigue, headache, loss of taste and smell, etc.) are asked to call their family doctor, DSP call centers or the single emergency number 112 to request testing.

Attention: if you have severe forms and the symptoms manifest aggressively, call the single emergency number 112.

Vaccination remains the best solution for protection against COVID-19!

All registered deaths are of patients who had comorbidities. Among the deceased patients, 4 were vaccinated and 12 were unvaccinated.

** Between June 27 and July 3, 18.076 RT-PCR tests and 56.678 rapid antigen tests were performed.
