The President of Romania: the decisions taken at the NATO Summit make Romania safer

The President of Romania, the decisions taken NATO Summit Romania safe

The President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, stated that the decisions taken during the NATO Summit in Madrid made Romania safer in the context of the war in Ukraine, which is not far from our country's borders, and you can find more details in the statement below.

"The last few weeks have been very intense for Romania and, if we talk about Romania's foreign policy and security policy, I can say that they have been very good weeks.

If we just think about the last two big meetings, which took place last week, the NATO Summit in Madrid, and the week before, the European Council, I think most of us remember with pleasure the good results that were achieved by Romania for Romania.

I would not like to repeat what I said from Brussels and Madrid, but I think it is appropriate to repeat that these meetings made Romania safer, more visible and proved something that has been discussed many times , and now I think that the answer is appropriate: Romania is an actor very involved in European politics and in security policy.

Romanians are better defended, Romania is better protected and, if we also look at the Neighbourhood, the fact that Ukraine, but also, remarkably, Moldova received the status of a candidate to enter the European Union, we realize that on this level as well , for Romania, the evolution was particularly positive.

These results did not come by themselves and did not fall from the sky. These results are the results of a large team – and the Presidential Administration, the Foreign Office, the Government, our representations, a lot of people worked for a very long time.

To be very clear, these results were hard-earned and I take this opportunity to express my gratitude to everyone involved in achieving these results."
