Sloviansk could be the town where the next important battle could take place in the war in Ukraine, and this is because it is the target of several groups of the Russian army that are heading towards that area, and that certainly want to occupy the city very quickly, even if the Ukrainian army is putting up substantial resistance at the moment.

Great Britain made this statement in a briefing it published on the evolution of the war in Ukraine, and as you can see below, we are talking about a series of predictions that show us that things are going to become much more difficult for Ukrainians in the course of the following days.

"Russia probably continues to consolidate its control over Lysychansk and Luhansk Oblast. To the north, he sent most of the remaining available units from Force Groups East and West to the Izium axis.

Over the past week, Russian forces have advanced perhaps another 5 km on the main E40 road from Izium in the face of fiercely determined Ukrainian resistance. Russian forces from Force Groups East and West are now believed to be about 16 km north of the city of Sloviansk.

With the city also under threat from Force Groups Central and South, there is a realistic possibility that the battle for Sloviansk will be the next key contest in the fight for Donbas."
