Adrian Marinescu: Important Announcement regarding Romanians' Concerns about Monkey Smallpox

Adrian Marinescu Important Announcement Concerns of Romanians Monkey Pox

Adrian Marinescu talks about the great concerns of Romanians about monkey pox, a virus that is still spreading in some European countries, the doctor saying that people should stay calm, because there is no reason to be afraid because the virus would not had a very high contagiousness.

Adrian Marinescu says that in the case of monkey pox it is not possible to reach a pandemic, or even an endemic state due to the low contagiousness of the virus, but also that it is not the world that should be worried about the virus, but the international experts who must to find out why there are more cases now outside of Africa than in the last 2 years.

"The challenges related to infectious diseases have always been, and will continue to be, we talked about the mysterious hepatitis some time ago, we are talking about monkey pox, by the way, they could be starting points from rodents, but it was discovered for the first time to monkeys, and it will continue to be called that.

Anyway, what was clear, and I think it was said from the very beginning, is that these microorganisms, when they do not have an important capacity to transmit, cannot lead to a pandemic or an epidemic, or even to an endemic area, as it happens in Africa. It was quite obvious that it had to be an observational part, we are not talking about concern here.

I also said as follows, not the citizen should be worried about such challenges, but the international medical world should be concerned, as for example this smallpox has more cases outside the African continent, as it did not happen before pandemic, so clearly he has to ask himself some questions.

But the proof that neither with the hepatitis that I called mysterious, or I pray for the unknown cause, nor in the case of smallpox, were there any particular problems, and the initial perception that it could not possibly lead to a real problem for public health did not change at all. .

Regarding the Coronavirus, it is clear that we need prudence, normality is one that belongs to the pandemic, we are not talking about a situation in which we have passed the pandemic, because that is not the case. Secondly, people with health problems must first of all be protected, and here we can also talk about vaccination."
