Sorin Grindeanu Official Announcement New Highway Sector Approved by the Government

Sorin Grindeanu officially announces the fact that the Government of Romania has approved the technical-economic indicators so that one more section of highway in Romania can have the construction contracts put up for auction, and we are talking about the A7 highway sector between Focsani and Bacau, part of the Moldova highway .

Sorin Grindeanu says that we are talking about almost 100 kilometers of the highway that will be auctioned, that is, almost a third of the total Moldova highway, which from Ploiesti to Pascani will have a length of 320 kilometers, but it remains to be seen how many decades are still needed for its construction.

"The technical-economic indicators for the construction of the Focșani - Bacău Highway (A7 sector) were approved today by the Government! Thus, the contracts for another 98,9 km of the Moldova highway will be able to quickly enter the auction, after the Technical-Economic Council of CNAIR will approve the Technical Project for all 3 sections of the highway.

Section 1 (Focșani – Domnești Târg): 35,60 km, section 2 (Domnești Târg – Răcăciuni): 38,78 km, section 3 (Răcăciuni – Bacău Municipality): 24,52 km On the route of the Focșani-Bacău highway there will be built: 91 bridges and passages, 5 road junctions, 10 service spaces, 3 Maintenance and Coordination Centers.

The Moldova highway (A7) will have a length of approximately 320 km between Ploiesti and Pașcani, and its construction, estimated at 24,29 billion lei (without VAT), will be financed by PNRR. So far, on the Ploiești-Buzău sector (with a total length of 63,25 km), the contracts for the first two lots have been signed, and the contract for the third lot is to be signed shortly.

For the Bacău-Pașcani sector, CNAIR has already submitted for validation to ANAP the documentation for awarding the contracts necessary for the construction of the 3 lots with a length of 77,39 km. The Buzău-Focșani sector, (82,44 km), consisting of four sections, is in the phase of evaluating submitted offers.

A7, which will practically be the backbone of the road infrastructure in the Moldova Region, will represent the most important step taken in the last 30 years for the economic development of this area."
