WhatsApp, the messaging platform with the largest number of users worldwide, over 2 billion in number, has been working for several years to turn into reality a bet in which Facebook has invested serious amounts until now. We are talking about a bet by those from WhatsApp which is centered on offering within the messaging application a system of money transfers, or even payments, something that not everyone would imagine to see.
WhatsApp offers tens of millions of Indians, and millions of Brazilians, the opportunity to use the messaging application, including for money transfers and payments, hoping to be able to expand the services to other Western countries in the coming years. Considering that applications such as WeChat or Telegram already offer similar services, or even more complex ones, it was expected that WhatsApp would not stay out of this trend and not offer users such services.

WhatsApp is trying to convince people to use its application in these ways, but of course it is working with major financial institutions to allow the use of the application in these ways on iPhone and Android at the moment. In India, the process was not that simple, and that's because the authorities limited WhatsApp in terms of the number of people who can use services of this kind in Romania.
WhatsApp has plans to expand its services of this kind in Great Britain, as the first country in Europe to allow users to make money transfers from iPhone or Android, but much depends on the local authorities. It is possible that WhatsApp will not receive their consent to offer services of this kind, so it will be interesting to see how it will be able to convince them, and what exactly it will be able to offer in the end for those interested in using them, eventually.
WhatsApp is, of course, also working on many other important changes that it wants to offer to users all over the world, so it remains to be seen what will be finally available for us and how long it will take until this happens.
