Minister of Health: Last Minute Announcements, When Wave 6 Ends, Wave 7 Begins

Ministrul Sanatatii Anunturile Ultima Ora Cand Termina Valul 6 Incepe Valul 7

The Minister of Health spoke in some last-minute statements about the moment when the 6th wave of infections of the Coronavirus will end, but also when the 7th wave of infections will begin, and this is because, based on current forecasts, in the fall a another wave

The Minister of Health says that the 6th wave should decrease in the second half of August, and the 7th wave could start in October - November, if a new version of Omicron appears that is at least as transmissible as the BA .5.

"Probably, this pandemic wave will start to decrease from mid-August, but it is possible, that's how the forecasts are at the international level, that in the months of October - November we will witness a new increase if a new Omicron subvariant appears, or a new strain that has a high transmissibility.

Fortunately, the cases are not as serious, and this allows us to have a life much closer to normal. I would not blame the refugees from Ukraine for the increase in the number of cases from this moment in the 6th wave of the pandemic. Let's not forget that almost 2 million people entered Romania from Ukraine, and there are almost 82.000 in the national territory.

Obviously, the transmission takes place where there are crowded spaces, there are infected people who know, or don't know, this. It happens that we also have asymptomatic forms of the disease, especially in public transport. You see that Bucharest, which is a big city, still has a higher percentage than it should in terms of population.

A quarter of the cases registered in our country during this period are in Bucharest. That's why the use of the mask, and I warmly recommend it, as I did until the moment I started answering your questions, in crowded closed spaces and on public transport, is a recommendation, you certainly don't have to you consider it a restriction.

It is simply a recommendation to protect your own health, and especially to protect the community in which we live. My opinion is that we will not return to restrictions. Anyway, the way we approached the 5th wave, and now the 6th wave, and we recommend the same approach to the Government, that is, to monitor the way the health system is able to respond." A declared Rafila.
