NASA recently discovered a huge asteroid that arrived near the Earth at the moment with speeds exceeding 115.000 kilometers per hour, and we are talking about a cosmic object whose diameter is almost 400 meters. We are talking about an asteroid that was named 2022 OE2 and that will pass by our planet almost at 19:00, but the big surprise is that NASA discovered it very late in its journey towards the sun in the solar system.
The asteroid that NASA named 2022 OE2 is so big that if it had collided with the Earth, it would have caused destruction for at least tens of kilometers, and that would have generated extremely big problems. On the other hand, the asteroid passed at a distance of 3.2 kilometers from the Earth, i.e. almost 10 times the distance between our planet and the moon, it being the somewhat usual distance at which objects of this kind pass by the planet on their journey through the solar system .

NASA managed to discover this asteroid with the name 2022 OE2 only on the date of July 26, that is, very few days before it actually reaches our planet. The reasons why it is so difficult for NASA to discover an asteroid of this kind vary a lot, and they are based on either the light it can reflect, or the materials it is made of, and these variables sometimes prevent the early discovery of incoming asteroids to Earth.
