Coronavirus Romania - August 13, 2022 The New Number of New Cases of Infection

Romania continues to "navigate" the 6th wave of infections generated by the Coronavirus during this period, the number of people who are confirmed every day as being infected is in the thousands, and this of course generates enough anxiety among the people, even if the authorities present the situation as a very good one.

The coronavirus continues to spread without any limit in Romania due to the fact that there are no measures to prevent the spread at the moment, but also because the Omicron strain is very contagious, the BA.4 and BA.5 variants becoming dominant globally in the last few months, without any signs that anything could change.

In the Romanian hospitals, things are still presented as calm, the Romanian authorities stating that the number of people with moderate or severe forms of the disease is still low, so this is where their confidence comes from crossing this pandemic wave without very big problems.

"In the last 24 hours, 4684 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, with 1026 less than the previous day. 890 of the new cases in 24 hours are of reinfected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the first infection.

Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 229 people were reconfirmed positive.

In specialized health units, the number of people hospitalized in wards with COVID-19 is 3.494, 321 less than the previous day. Also, 276 people are hospitalized at ATI, 17 less than the previous day. Of the 276 patients admitted to ATI, 237 are unvaccinated.
