Minister of Education: Last Hour, Important First Measure for Education

The Minister of Education Last Time Important Measure Premier Education

The Minister of Education announces for Romania a new profound change that the authorities want to implement throughout the country for the benefit of millions of children, and as you can see from the message below, we are talking about non-discriminatory access to education for children in the country's hospitals.

The Minister of Education supports a very important project that will allow even children from hospitals to have access to the educational system in Romania starting in the near future, which of course has been necessary for a very long time for our country, but something that would only come now, unfortunately.

"I participated with emotion, today, in the meeting with teachers, psychologists involved in supporting the education of hospitalized children, volunteers, representatives of the universities of medicine and pharmacy, in order to analyze together the means of supporting the "Hospital School" through the drafts of the new laws of education.

We had an open dialogue about how important a different approach to the right to education is for children diagnosed with serious illnesses, all participants in today's meeting being directly involved in hospital education, having daily contact with the needs of hospitalized children. The treatments for these children, for the pathologies they have, are long and very difficult.

The education process in the hospital will be a real support for children who are inpatients. The educational act, together with the medical treatment, contributes to the recovery and reintegration of those in this situation.

Children diagnosed with serious diseases will have non-discriminatory access to education by the fact that the education process will be carried out individually, adapted to each one's needs, at the hospital bed, in groups within the hospital or online, the teaching staff being in permanent contact with the child's attending physician . Because we need teachers dedicated and adapted to the special needs of children, we need to train teachers with a special profile.

The dedicated teachers who are currently working in the hospital schools, in very difficult and insufficiently regulated conditions, the specialists from the universities of medicine and pharmacy, together with the Ministry of Education through the National Center for Training and Development of the Teaching Career, will contribute to this training , in collaboration with the National Center for Inclusion - both structures established by the new draft law under the auspices of the "Educated Romania" program. The hospital school will be organized and will operate within the higher education institutions of medicine and pharmacy, which will establish "Hospital School" pre-university education units and will be part of the national education system."
