Minister of Education: Last Minute Declaration, Major Measure for All Schools

Minister of Education Statement LAST TIME Major Measure All Schools

The Minister of Education speaks in a new statement about a major measure that is being taken for all schools in Romania, one of the most important that was requested by parents, students and teachers, more precisely the elimination of gymnasiums from the admission process to high schools in Romania.

The Minister of Education explains below the great benefits that this very important measure brings for all of Romania at the moment, but also about the fact that some of the students do not arrive at school in the first week, and still go on vacation with their parents because the courses are not they start in the first days, and they are not even absent.

"This measure (n. ed. removing the middle school average from admission to high school) is based on a request from students, parents and teachers, supported by the ministry, and by me personally. I saw well the irrelevance of middle school grades, I saw that the number of grades between 4 and 9 tripled, even increased 10 times after the health crisis.

I have seen that the standardized assessment has always been a problem in the Romanian school, it was greatly amplified during the health crisis. The standardized evaluation is necessary because at the moment behind the grade 10 or 9 obtained in the Vianu or Moisil college, there should be exactly the same level of the same skills as in a school where no student gets an average of 5 at the National Assessment.

I think that as long as we have the power to give up hypocrisy and promote common sense, we understand that you cannot put the equal sign between the average years of secondary school in a school where no one takes the National Assessment and the average of years of secondary school in a college that yes, national and international Olympians.

I understand very well from the perspective of the parents (n. ed. asked about the vacations taken in the first week of school), I understand very well from the Horeca perspective, I understand very well from the perspective of economic interests, but now let's not blame the start of school, because we see very well the weather conditions are not the most attractive for the season at the seaside.

I have just done an analysis, in all the states of Europe, not only in the EU states, there are about 2 states that start school in the middle of September, the rest started school in August. I'm talking about countries with education systems that we always look at with admiration. There are countries that started school on September 1 and 2, we on September 5 are already a little late."
