The coronavirus continues to be the focus of the whole world at the moment, and this is because there are still many infections confirmed daily in Romania, the authorities in our country confirming over 24 new cases every 1.000 hours.
Romania continues to be in a very good situation in terms of the number of new cases of infection, but with the threat of the 7th wave of infections very close, there are fears that the number of cases could increase again.
Europe is currently in a "transition" phase between the waves of the Coronavirus, and this is because it is expected that a wave 7 of infections will hit many countries on the continent in the coming months, but it is hard to say how serious it will be.
"In the last 24 hours, 1.227 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, with 104 less than the previous day. 241 of the new cases in 24 hours are of reinfected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the first infection.
Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 68 people were reconfirmed positive.
In specialized health units, the number of people hospitalized in wards with COVID-19 is 1.424, 11 less than the previous day. Also, 128 people are hospitalized at ATI, 5 more than the previous day. Of the 128 patients admitted to ATI, 115 are unvaccinated.
Out of the total number of admitted patients, 144 are minors, all of them admitted to wards, with 10 more than the previous day and 0 in ATI, the same as the previous day.
Until today, 66.968 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.
In the last 24 hours, 2.453 RT-PCR tests (1.624 based on case definition and medical protocol and 829 on request) and 12.692 rapid antigen tests were performed. Until this date, at the national level, they have been processed 13.490.121 RT-PCR tests and 11.520.047 rapid antigen tests.:
