The Minister of Health made an extremely important last-minute decision that many Romanians need to know about at the moment, and this is because we are talking about the decision to organize a pilot program for the vaccination of eligible people in some pharmacies in Romania.
The Minister of Health has an order that he could sign at the end of the public debate period, and below you have some of the main ideas on the basis of which this pilot program would take place in Romania, the idea itself being a good one because many people can benefit from such a program at the moment.
"In order to provide the seasonal flu vaccination service, the vaccines intended for the eligible population can be administered in authorized community pharmacies. Vaccination will be done exclusively by pharmacists who have completed a postgraduate training program in seasonal influenza vaccination. Vaccination is done by the pharmacists provided for in paragraph (2) in strict compliance with the Vaccination Guide in community pharmacies provided in Annex no. 1 to this order.
The authorization of pharmacies to carry out the vaccination activity provided for in art.1 is done by the Ministry of Health, through the Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices Directorate, based on the following documents: Standard application, according to the model provided in Annex no. 2 to this order; The operating authorization of the pharmaceutical unit issued by the Ministry of Health, in copy;
The technical memorandum assumed by the representative of the legal entity that owns the pharmacy, which will necessarily contain the sketch of the pharmacy space, highlighting the special space intended for vaccination and the description of the equipment and organization of this space, so that the authorization conditions by the Ministry of Health can be verified,
The list of pharmacists who will carry out the seasonal flu vaccination activity, accompanied by their certificates of completion of the seasonal flu vaccination training program, in copy; The contract concluded with an authorized economic operator for the transport, treatment and disposal of medical waste, in copy;
Declaration on personal responsibility regarding compliance with the provisions of art. 4. If the pharmacy fulfills the authorization conditions, within a maximum of 15 days from the date of receipt of the application and the related documentation, the Ministry of Health through the Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices Directorate will enter as a note on the operating authorization the permission for the community pharmacy to carry out vaccination activity against seasonal flu and will communicate it to the applicant.
Any intention to change the authorization conditions or the pharmacist providing the vaccination, including the presence of a new pharmacist who meets the conditions set out in Art. 1, paragraph 2, sList of community pharmacies that are authorized to carry out the activity of vaccination against seasonal flu is published on the website of the Ministry of Health and updated whenever necessary. They will notify the Ministry of Health in advance."
