Coronavirus Romania: New Number of New Cases on October 6, 2022

Coronavirus Romania New Number of New Cases October 6, 2022

Romania is still registering new cases of the Coronavirus, which is causing concern among the authorities, and this is because we are still talking about a transmission that takes place within the communities, everything being a serious problem that still persists in our country.

The coronavirus does not yet generate significant cases of infection in Romania, nor does it cause problems in hospitals, and the authorities believe that the immunity that Romanians have would provide a much quieter winter, even if some countries in Europe seem to have already entered in a wave of 7 infections.

Romania is also going to receive new vaccines adapted to the new variants of the Coronavirus, but it is unlikely that many people will be vaccinated as long as there are not large numbers of new cases in our country, something that the authorities think is possible.

"In the last 24 hours, 845 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, with 214 less than the previous day. 168 of the new cases in 24 hours are of reinfected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the first infection.

Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 71 people were reconfirmed positive.

In specialized health units, the number of people hospitalized in wards with COVID-19 is 1.249, 31 less than the previous day. Also, 112 people are hospitalized at ATI, 5 less than the previous day. Of the 112 patients admitted to ATI, 104 are unvaccinated.

Out of the total number of admitted patients, 84 are minors, all of them admitted to wards, with 1 more than the previous day and 0 in ATI, the same as the previous day.

Until today, 67.069 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

Between 05.10.2022 (10:00) and 06.10.2022 (10:00) 3 deaths (1 man and 2 women) were reported by INSP, with no deaths reported before the reference interval.

In the last 24 hours, 2.720 RT-PCR tests (1.751 based on case definition and medical protocol and 969 on request) and 11.927 rapid antigen tests were performed. Until this date, at the national level, they have been processed
13.523.004 RT-PCR tests and 11.662.801 rapid antigen tests.”
