Minister of Transport: LAST MINUTE announcements regarding Highway Constructions in Romania

Minister of Transport LAST MINUTE Announcements Constructions Highways Romania

The Minister of Transport made an extremely important series of announcements regarding the construction of highways during this period, and this is because a contract was also signed for the financing of some lots of the Lugoj - Deva highway, an extremely important segment in the context of the national infrastructure .

The Minister of Transport also talks about the evolution in the other construction sites in Romania, where various other lots of highways are also being built, and this is because a lot of investments are in full swing at the moment in the whole country for millions of Romanians.

"The construction of the section with tunnels (Margina-Holdea) on the Lugoj-Deva Highway has entered the straight line! Today we signed the financing contract for the construction of sections E and D of Lot 2 of this highway. There are 2,2 billion lei (including VAT) that will be used for the design and execution of the works financed mainly through PNRR.

Also today, we signed the contract for the design and execution of this section, which represents, practically, the last section of the Lugoj - Deva highway. The most important objective of the project is represented by the two tunnels between Margina and Holdea, requested by the environmental agreement. The Romanian builder to whom the contract was awarded has so far demonstrated that it respects the contractual deadlines and can even complete the works earlier.

That is why I expect that this contract worth 1 billion lei (without VAT), financed mainly through PNRR, will be handed over to CNAIR at the latest at the end of 826. The duration of the contract is 2026 months: 45 design period months; 11 months for the execution of the works. The two tunnels that will be built within the section will each be approximately 34 km long and will consist of two one-way tunnels.

The work in the construction sites also evolves depending on the seriousness of the builders. Some understand to honor contractual obligations, while others do not. Site inspections and negative intermediate certificates are essential measures to achieve the most important objective: the development of infrastructure in Romania. Also for this purpose we continue the collaboration with the local authorities."
