Coronavirus Romania New Number of New Infectors October 16, 2022

The coronavirus in Romania is still a concern that Romanians must know about, and this is because the authorities in the country continue to detect new cases of infection among people, and in Europe there is currently a wave 7 of infections with many new cases.

"In the last 24 hours, 237 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, with 241 less than the previous day. 46 of the new cases in 24 hours are of reinfected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the first infection.

Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 23 people were reconfirmed positive.

In specialized health units, the number of people hospitalized in wards with COVID-19 is 939, 2 less than the previous day. Also, 108 people are hospitalized at ATI, 1 more than the previous day. Of the 108 patients admitted to ATI, 97 are unvaccinated.

Out of the total number of admitted patients, 43 are minors, 42 being admitted to wards, 1 less than the previous day and 1 to the ICU, 1 more than the previous day.

Until today, 67.120 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

In the last 24 hours, 1.428 RT-PCR tests (749 based on case definition and medical protocol and 679 on request) and 3.952 rapid antigen tests were performed. Until this date, at the national level, they have been processed
