The WHO has officially published a new and very worrying announcement by which it warns extremely seriously all countries around the world, and this is because it brings to their immediate attention the fact that monkeypox still remains a public health emergency of international concern, so there are still enough cases to declare this.
The WHO says that this is the third time that the commission has met that established that monkeypox is a public health emergency of international concern, and despite the decrease in the number of new cases in recent weeks, it seems that the situation is still far from good, so a lot of attention is still needed, unfortunately.
The WHO issues these warnings to ensure that all the countries of the world, together with their citizens, know very well what this public health emergency entails, but also that the measures taken so far have not been sufficient to be able to declare that there is no longer the situation that generated the declaration of an emergency of international concern.
The WHO is working with many countries around the world to try to further reduce the number of new cases of infection caused by monkey pox, but of course the help of people is also needed, who must protect themselves against any infection, but this it doesn't happen everywhere.
The International Health Regulations Emergency Committee on the multi-country #monkeypox outbreak reconvened today, for the third time since its first meeting in June.
