The Minister of Energy speaks officially about the very important measures that were taken by the Romanian Government in the last year of government, some of the most important ones that are meant to help the Romanians get over the crises generated by the War in Ukraine.
The Minister of Energy takes stock of the activity of the government of which he is a part, and talks about the measures that had a real impact for Romanians during the implementation period, so it is good to look carefully at what is said below in relation to everything what was done by the governors.
"ENERGY: 2022 was the year of investments! Although it was a year full of challenges with Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucă, colleagues from the Government and the team from the ministry, we managed the energy crisis through measures to protect citizens and the economy, but at the same time we also supported investments.
The results of these massive investments will become visible in the next 2-3 years, and thus we will ensure our energy independence and security. Through the Ministry of Energy came the most European money attracted to this field to date - over 1 billion EURO, to which is added the most state aid for strategic companies such as the CEO, Transelectrica - over 2 billion EURO.
At the same time, we put the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant development project in a straight line alongside strategic partners to provide safety and security to Romania. We have definitively and irrevocably established partnerships with the US and NATO member states for the development of Reactors 3 and 4. We obtained financial support of over 3 billion dollars for Reactors 3 and 4 of the Cernavoda nuclear power plant from the United States of America.
And we made Romania the first country in Europe where a small modular nuclear reactor will be located - SMR, in partnership with the Americans from NuScale - another strategic partnership with the USA in the nuclear field, obtaining funding for a study for establishing the location and its location being established, in Doicești in Dâmbovița county.
There hasn't been a year since Romania organized the energy field with its own ministry in which more was achieved to eliminate Romania's dependence on Russian gas, either through direct exploitation (BSOG in the Ana and Doina shallow perimeters), Romanian control over the Neptun Deep perimeter, either through the legislative framework favorable to investments, or through the diversification of gas supply sources."
